A 55-year-old man who is a street beggar came across a diamond ring worth KSh 435,000, but decided to return it to the rightful owner.
The honest man identified as Billy Ray Harri was massively rewarded after doing the unbelievable.
According to media reports, Harri who was previously homeless received some coins from a passer-who forgot her expensive engagement ring.
Realising that the lady had left the ring in his cup, the beggar’s first intention was to sell it and keep the money for himself.
The ring was valued at a whopping KSh 435,000.
On second thought, the elderly man decided to find the whereabouts of the ring owner and returned it.
Upon finding her location and handing over the ring, the lady along with her partner was impressed with Harri’s act of kindness and decided to reward him for being honest.
The couple started a fund drive to help raise money for the man.
“We set the goal for KSh 100,000 but ended up raising over KSh 25 million,” said the lady.
The couple expressed their appreciation to Billy and handed the contributions over to him.
