Gulu University on Tuesday launched the vaccination of medical students and staffs following presidential directive to allow medical students from different higher learning institutions across the country to resume learning after a break caused rampant spread of covid-19.

According to the source, the vaccination of medical students has been prioritized because they would interact directly with patients in the hospital.

“Today, we responded vaccinating our students from the Faculty of Medicine and some staff. We prioritized the medical students because they would be in the hospital wards. This minimizes exposure to COVID19 for them and the patients.”

Gulu University was at first given 100 doses of Covid-19 vaccines and those doses were used on those due for second jabs, there is also hope that another 200 doses of the Vaccine will be delivered soon as requested the University.
