Uganda police force has come out rejecting the report about the explosions that occurred today morning at Akamwesi mall in Kyebando saying its not a bomb as many people suspected.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy PRO, Kampala Metropolitan Police has called upon the pubic to disregard the report saying its a fake news.

“Please disregard all rumours circulating on social media that there has been a bomb blast at Akamwesi Mall in Kyebando,” he said.

He added that the bomb experts respond to the scene and only found that it was a poorly disposed rubbish.

“Our expert teams responded to an alert,and upon object retrieval, our bomb squad found poorly disposed off rubbish,” Luke said.

“While we commend the high vigilance from the public, we appeal to stake holders,and the public to avoid release of unverified information as this may cause unnecessary panic with in members of the public,” he added.

He however called upon the public to remember calling upon the police hotlines whenever there is anything they are not sure about.
