According to the pilgrimage that happens every year in Uganda, A 101 year old Mr Bernardo Tibangye have been spotted almost for the 52nd time now.
Bernardo has been making it on foot for years and he has been recognized as the eldest and strongest among the foot pilgrims who travels to the shrines.
Mzee Bennardo hails from Bushgenyi in the western part of Uganda and Every year he joins the foot pilgrims from Bushenyi in this journey of faith to Namugongo.
Last Year, he was awarded a medal for being the oldest and the most faithful pilgrim in the shrine.
Who are Uganda Martyrs.
Uganda Martyrs are the 22 Ugandan faithful who were killed within 1885-1888 Kabaka Mwanga for their faith in Jesus Christ.
Each year, Uganda together with the rest of the world converge at Namugongo martyrs shrines on the 3rd June to Commemorate the Uganda Martyrs and also pray to God to renew their faith in Him.
Among the other Diocese that walks for faith to Namugongo are Lango Diocese, Lira Diocese, Jinja Diocese and other dioceses from Kenya, and Tanzania.
