Being the 3rd of June, Ugandan faithfuls together with pilgrims from different parts of the world gathered at Uganda Martyrs catholic shrines (Namugongo) to commemorate 138 years since the killing of the 22 catholics for their faith.
This was done during the regime of Kabaka Mwanga in around 1880-1886(3rd, June) where he ordered his guards to arrest, beat, stubb and burn the faithful christians for worshiping Jesus Christ.
This year, just like other previous years, Namugongo has hosted over 60,000 pilgrims from different parts of the world.
Namugongo Martyrs shines has been marked to the plaace that host the largest number of people in the whole country.
This years celebration was hosted be Jinja Catholic diocese.
