Tragic Murder of Lira City East Deputy RCC Mwase Karim Shocks Community
In a harrowing incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, Mwase Karim, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner of Lira City East Division, was brutally murdered unidentified assailants on Monday night. His lifeless body was discovered abandoned in Nakalama sub-county along the Iganga-Bugiri highway in Iganga District.
Preliminary reports suggest that Mwase was intercepted his attackers while returning from a public function he attended in Bugweri District on Sunday. According to Kato Dauda, the Deputy RDC of Iganga, the assailants blocked Mwase’s vehicle, strangled him, and then fled, leaving his body inside the car.
The authorities have promptly transferred his remains to the mortuary at Iganga General Hospital, where an autopsy is expected to be conducted. In response to this shocking crime, the Busoga East Police have deployed a team of detectives to reconstruct the scene and gather potential evidence, embarking on an urgent investigation aimed at bringing the perpetrators to justice. The community waits anxiously for answers following this tragic loss.
