Road Accident Involving Acholi Province Bus Near Dima and Karuma

A bus carrying pupils from Favor of God Primary School in Gulu City was involved in a road accident on Saturday evening around 8:30 PM, between Dima and Karuma.

According to initial reports, the bus was returning from a study tour in Entebbe when the incident occurred. Just a few kilometers after passing Dima trading center, an elephant suddenly emerged from the nearbush and jumped in front of the vehicle. Fortunately, the driver was moving at a slow speed, which prevented a more serious collision.

The driver sustained minor cuts and injuries but is currently recovering at home. Several teachers and pupils who were injured in the incident were promptly admitted to Lacor Hospital for treatment.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement, and this update is based on preliminary information. Further details will be provided once the traffic police complete their investigation.
