Security team together with the education specialists of Gulu city has come out banning the use of televisions in schools. 

In his statement, Richard Irwenyo, the Gulu City Senior Inspector of Schools said the decision was reached in an emergency meeting held on Monday that was called the violent strike at Gulu Central High School.

Irwenyo added that the use of Television and other entertainment system has been identified as the core for indiscipline amidst the learners leading to strikes.

“The decision has been made that no school should broadcast such shows on televisions in schools in order to avoid future occurrences much as the violent strike at Gulu Central High School was the first,” he added.

The Gulu Resident City Commissioner, Denis Odongpiny Odwong however said that they do not wish to witness more violent strikes in schools since the Gulu central high school was caused failure to broadcast Manchester dergame.
