Over 467 foot pilgrims today Tuesday set off for the journey of faith to Namugongo martyrs shrine.

They are expected to reach the shrine two days prior to the celebration day on the 3rd of June 2022.

Every year pilgrims from different dioceses across Uganda and outside Uganda converge in Namugongo for prayers and commemoration of the 22 faithful men of God who were tortured and burned alive the command of Kabaka Mwanga in 1886 for converting to Catholicism.
