A 1.2 billion Shillings gravity flow water project construction that is funded Islamic Development Bank has started in Abako sub-county Alebtong District. This project will be implemented the Ministry of Local Government under a five-year Local Economic Growth Support initiative.
The initiative prioritizes the construction and rehabilitation of valley tanks, surface water schemes for irrigation and piped water system for consumption, construction of markets, and rehabilitation of roads among others.
Alebtong District is expected to construct Multi-Purpose Market Sheds valued at 303 million Shillings in Alebtong Town Council and the piped water system in Abako sub-county this year. The water project undertaken M/S Don- Mo Contractors will have 10 water kiosks and 50-yard taps supplying water through gravity from a 1,000 cubic litre tank.
