Ugandan youth recently caught the attention of professional wrestlers who perform for the World Wrestling Entertainment, WWE , a U.S. based company responsible for promoting professionals like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, John Cena, The Undertaker and more.

Daniel Bumba, a Ugandan WWE fan and the founder of Soft Ground Wrestling, took the first steps towards promoting youth in the East African nation who have dreams of wrestling under the reputable U.S.-based company. He founded a YouTube channel which broadcast video of East African youth wrestling and training in a bamboo-lined ring.

In February, Jordynne Grace , an American wrestler, shared video on X, formerly known as Twitter, which showed one of the Ugandan youth smashing his opponent against bamboo poles.

Her post led to U.S.-based fans launching a GoFundMe effort – an online community fundraising platform – which raised over $10,000 for the Ugandan youth. The pitch said, “Uganda’s amateur wrestlers deserve a chance to showcase their talents to the world.”
