The Police in Kabale District are investigating circumstances sorrounding the sudden death of a 25 year old woman who died after being admitted at Rugarama Hospital in Kabale Municipality.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed that the deceased Arinatwe Annet died on December 2nd 2021 shortly after being admitted at the health facility she had been rushed to her husband only identified as Saturday.
The deceased was a business woman in Central Cell, Central Division in Kabale Municipality and the two are reported to have lived as man and wife since 2015, but the husband never took steps to formalize his marriage with the parents of the deceased and when she suddenly died, her relatives became suspicious and reported the matter to the Police.
However, the husband has since gone missing from his home and abandoned the business they operated in Kabale Municipality.
Maate said that the case was reported the deceased’s relative identified as Bekunda Obadia, resident of Nyakibungo village in Kashasha Parish, Bufundi Sub country in Kabale District.
The police PRO adds that the Police Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO) swung into action and removed the body from Rugarama Private Hospital and took it to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
The case of sudden death has since been reported at Kabale Central Police Station under reference number CRB 1021/2021 to help in investigations.
