Kenyatta University suspends classes in honour of 11 students who perished in Voi crash
Kenyatta University suspends learning for 3 days from Wednesday in honour of 11 students who died in a road accident in Maungu on Monday, Deputy VC Waceke Wanjohi has said.
In an internal memo on Tuesday, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) said the break from classes will allow the school community come to terms with the loss of their collegues.
On Tuesday, eight critically injured students from the Monday accident were airlifted to Nairobi for further medical attention.
Currently, 34 students are still receiving treatment at Moi County Referral Hospital in Voi, Taita Taveta County.
The bus was carrying 54 students on an academic trip to Malindi. Also on board were a lab technician, a student leader and two drivers.
